Spider-Man and Uncharted actor Tom Holland's next project has been revealed, and it's not another action movie. Deadline confirmed that Holland is set to appear in an anthology series for Apple TV+ as Billy Milligan, the first person to be acquitted of a crime due to multiple personality disorder. The show is called The Crowded Room.
It's created by Akiva Goldsman, who previously wrote and earned an Oscar for A Beautiful Mind. He also wrote Batman forever and the screenplay for The Da Vinci Code. New Regency (Birdman, 12 Years A Slave) is producing the show, which will have 10 episodes.
According to Deadline, Holland will star in the entire season.
"The Crowded Room is an anthology series that will explore the true and inspirational stories of those who have struggled, and learned to successfully live with, mental illness," reads a line from its description.
Season 1 is focused on Billy Milligan, based on the Daniel Keyes biography, The Minds of Billy Milligan. This is just the latest project from Holland at Apple, as he starred in the action movie Cherry from the directors of Avengers: Endgame.
In other news, Holland's Uncharted movie from Sony Pictures was recently in the news as it's part of Sony's new deal with Netflix to bring theatrical movies to the streaming platform.
