The first trailer for Tom Holland's new movie, Cherry, is out now. The Apple TV+ movie is described as an "epic odyssey of romance, war, drug addiction, and crime." The film was written and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously directed Holland in the Avengers films.
Holland plays the main character who is trying to find his place in the world after leaving the service. After exiting the military, he becomes addicted to opioids and turns to robberies and a life of crime to pay for his addictions. You can check out the trailer below, which follows on from the teaser trailer from earlier in the week.
Cherry also stars Ciara Bravo (A Teacher), Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Michael Rispoli (The Deuce), and Jeff Wahlberg (Dora and the City of Lost Gold). It hits theaters on February 26 and will be available on Apple TV+ from March 12.
The movie is based on Nico Walker's novel of the same name, which he wrote in prison.
Joe Russo said in an interview with EW that Holland shines in Cherry. "You get a taste of Holland's incredible performance in the movie and the range that he displays as an actor," Joe Russo told EW. "I think you're seeing him transform from a teen actor into an adult actor."
