Tom Holland has shared some new insight into how he prepared for the Uncharted movie, and it involved spending a lot of time in the gym. Speaking to Total Film (via GamesRadar), Holland said he decided to work extra hard in the gym to get bigger after coming to set for the first time and seeing how jacked Mark Wahlberg was.
"When we went to set for the first time, I saw Mark Wahlberg [who plays mentor figure Sully], and Mark is massive. He is a unit," Holland said.

Now Playing: Uncharted Official Reveal Trailer
Holland said he was in good shape at the time but lacked big muscles. Production on the Uncharted movie was halted right away due to COVID, and Holland used this time to grow his muscles.
"We went home for five months, all I did was eat and train, eat and train, eat and train--to put a bit of timber on, to make me look not like a child next to Mark," Holland said.
Also in the interview, Holland said part of the reason he signed on to play Drake in the Uncharted film was because it gave him an opportunity to try something new. Also, it let him travel the world, which is something he plans to do more in the future.
"I'm always looking for a challenge. I'm looking for something I haven't done before," he said. "I'm now using my job as an excuse to travel, and see the world, and meet amazing people. In a similar way to Nathan Drake, I really just like adventure."
After years of production, the Uncharted movie finally opens in theaters in February 2022. It will be Holland's next big movie after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Everyone who buys Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection gets a free ticket to see the Uncharted film.
