Tokyo Diary: "I'm Outta Here"
Tokyo Diary: "I'm Outta Here"-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 9:40 PM

It's here - my last day in Tokyo. By tomorrow, I'll be back in the US. While I have come to really enjoy being in Japan, I can't wait to get back to things that are familiar.

Today was a much easier day than the others. I headed out to Haneda to visit Sega and play some Sega Rally 2 (the game is amazing, too). From there, I took the train back in towards the center of Tokyo to visit Tecmo.

This time, though, the JR Line got me confused and I ended up going the wrong way, towards the end of the line. That ate up about 15-20 minutes of time, and then I finally got back on track. A couple of subway changeovers later, and I was looking up at the sign for Ichigaya station, which is close to where Tecmo is located.

Note to those who are planning to come to Japan: Bring comfortable walking shoes. It's a necessity.

On the way back from Tecmo I decided to take a little detour before going back to the hotel. I decided to go to Roppongi and see what it was like - and also to pick up some more souvenirs.

After staring at several JR and subway-line maps, I found myself in Roppongi, about an hour before the trains shut down. Roppongi was bustling with not only Japanese people, but also foreigners. This is where the Hard Rock Café is located. If I had had more time, I probably would've stayed in Roppongi a little longer.

Leaving Roppongi was much easier than getting there in the first place. When I finally arrived at the hotel, I noticed an "N.W.O." bus that was outside the hotel. Upon closer inspection, I realized that, indeed, members of the wrestling organization where stepping off the bus. Maybe I'll see them at breakfast tomorrow - like we saw several professional bowlers. Very cool.

Right now, it's Tuesday morning, and I'm leaving later today for the States. So, this is the final diary entry from Japan.

If you've been reading all of these ramblings, then I hope it's been enjoyable. If you have any questions, be sure to drop me an e-mail.

  Anyway, I'm outta here!
