TOKYO--Game developer Aqua Plus will release a sequel to its popular adventure game To Heart on the PS2, Famitsu reported recently. Titled To Heart 2, the game will take place in the same setting as To Heart, only two years into the future. As in the original game, To Heart 2 will present eight main characters, although in the sequel, all eight characters will be new (which will allow for the possibility of cameo appearances by the original title's characters).
While details on To Heart 2's game system have not been revealed, the project is confirmed to be in co-development by the company's two studios in Osaka and Tokyo. The illustration team consists of artists Misato Mitsumi, Tatuki Amaduyu, and Takeshi Nakamura. Hisashi Kawata, one of original game's artists, will also be joining the development team.
To Heart was originally released on the PC in 1997 and ported to the PlayStation two years later. To Heart 2 is currently 50 percent complete and scheduled for release in Japan next summer.
