Production designer Peter Lamont walked off with an Academy Award this past Monday - his was for art direction on James Cameron's Titanic, one of the eleven Oscars garnered by that film.

　　Of interest to gamers is what's next on Lamont's agenda. It is none other than Chris Roberts' Wing Commander film, currently in production in Luxembourg.

　　Digital Anvil, Roberts' company and the creators of the film, says that Lamont's artwork for the film, " a retro-future world which includes extraordinary spaceships, the hangar deck of an intergalactic spacecraft carrier, and a number of other immersive alien and confederate environments."

　　Lamont has Aliens, True Lies, and seven of the James Bond films on his resume.

　　"With his impressive resume spanning more than two decades ... we knew that Peter had the vision and talent to transport Wing Commander from the computer screen to the silver screen," said Digital Anvil's Marten Davies, adding, with the company's characteristic modesty, "Judging from the astonishing visuals that he has created for Wing Commander, this week's Oscar may only be his first."
