Electronic Arts must like Tim Curry. After casting the veteran British actor in both Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 and the upcoming Brütal Legend, the megapublisher today announced that he has joined the cast of Dragon Age: Origins. Best known for playing the Lord of Darkness in the film Legend and "Sweet Transvestite" Dr. Frank N. Furter in the musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Curry will play the "calculating villain" Arl Rendon Howe in Dragon Age.
Joining Curry on Dragon Age: Origins' villain roster will be Kate Mulgrew--aka Captain Kathryn Janeway on TV's Star Trek: Voyager. She will lend her distinctive voice to the central character of Flemeth, described as "a powerful witch who maintains her immortality through the darkest of means." Other cast members announced include Tim Russ (also from Star Trek: Voyager), Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1), and Steve Valentine (Crossing Jordan).
Developed by role-playing game studio BioWare, Dragon Age: Origins ships on November 3 for the PC and Xbox 360, with the PlayStation 3 edition arriving later in the month.
