THQ announced that it has completed its acquisition of GameFX, a software developer specializing in games with proprietary 3D-acceleration technology, a deal it had announced was in the works last month. Arlington, Massachusetts-based GameFX has become a subsidiary of THQ.
Said THQ president and CEO Brian J. Farrell, "Acquiring GameFX was a logical step in our overall strategy. GameFX propels us into ultra high-end PC products and gives us instant ownership of core advanced 3D accelerated technologies, which we will leverage for future platforms."
