THQ publishing Constantine in US -October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 3:18 AM

In August, London-based studio SCi Games announced it had bought the game rights for Constantine, the upcoming supernatural thriller from Warner Bros. Based on the Helblazer graphic novels from DC Comics, the film profiles paranormal investigator John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) who joins forces with police detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to uncover the satanic origins of her sister's suicide.

This week, SCi revealed it has inked a deal with THQ to publish Constantine in America. The M-rated, $39.99 third-person shooter will be released for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 in February 2005. The two companies did not reveal the terms of the deal, other than saying it was exclusive.

Developed by Bitz Studios, Constantine the game will largely adhere to the story of Constantine the movie, letting players slip on the dark suit of the titular investigator. The game will feature many levels based on the movie's two main locales: Los Angeles on Earth and "Hell LA" in the fiery realm down below. Many of the film's characters and monsters will make appearances alongside opponents created specifically for the game. It will also feature "an arsenal of horrific artifacts, including The Crucifier, the Holy Shotgun, and the Shroud of Moses," according to THQ.
