THQ has announced an agreement with Hearst Entertainment to release licensedgames based on the upcoming Fox Kids' program, The Ripping Friends. The first game being developed under the agreement will be released during this holiday season, most likely for the Game Boy Color.
"The Ripping Friends is such a clever and innovative program that it actually invites kids to participate in physical activities during the show,'' stated Michael Rubinelli, vice president of product development for THQ. "We think this type of involvement--which actually brings kids into the action--is an ideal springboard for developing interactive games. We are delighted to be working with Hearst Entertainment in extending John Kricfalusi's creative fantasy with The Ripping Friends video games.''
The TV show, which will debut this fall, features four superheroes who are on a quest to make Earth a safer place for being more manly.
