The Witcher Netflix show will be released in December, but a little later than rumored.
A new trailer, which has been released today in time for the Lucca Comics and Games, where showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich made an appearance, confirms that The Witcher show will be available starting December 20th.
The Witcher Netflix show is based on the novels written by Andrzej Sapokowski, which are set years before the video game series created by CD Projekt RED. The novels, and now Netflix show, detail Geralt's days as a monster hunter, his first meeting with Yennefer and how he got to become part of Ciri's destiny.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
The latest entry in the series by CDPR is The Witcher 3, which has been released a few years back on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game also hit Nintendo Switch this month.
The Witcher show releases on Netflix on December 20th.
