UK-based developer Computer Artworks has announced The Thing, its upcoming game based on John Carpenter's 1982 movie starring Kurt Russell. Konami will publish The Thing on several game platforms, including the PC. The game begins where the movie left off, and it will feature advanced artificial intelligence and detailed 3D environments. Players will experience Hollywood-style cinematics and an involved storyline that combines action, adventure, and science-fiction elements. Computer Artworks previously developed the squad-based shooter Evolva.
The Thing is scheduled for release in early 2002.
