The Super Mario Bros. Movie Will Be Rated PG-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 5:47 PM

The Super Mario Bros. movie is coming to theaters next April, and fans got their first look at the movie with its first trailer over New York Comic-Con weekend earlier this month. It gave us our first impression of Jack Black as Bowser and Chris Pratt as Mario.

Universal Studio's animated Super Mario movie will be rated PG for action and mild violence, according to the official film rating website. So we'll probably see some Koopa stomping and possibly comical fire flower usage thrown in for good measure.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie stars Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Khary Payton, and the original Mario voice, Charles Martinet, as an unannounced role.

One interesting thing about the Super Mario Bros. Movie PG rating is that is has the same rating as the 1993 live-action Mario Bros. movie. Starring Bob Hoskins as Mario, John Leguizamo as Luigi, and Dennis Hopper as Bowser, the original film had its own weird moments. However, the upcoming animated movie is more of a spot-on visual representation of what we think of when Mario and his friends pop into our minds.
