The Simpsons Mocks Donald Trump Again in New Video
The Simpsons Mocks Donald Trump Again in New Video-October 2024

In case you missed it, Donald Trump has been elected as the 45th President of the United States. People quickly dug out old footage from The Simpsons, which prophesied that very outcome in one episode set in the near future.

The show has now responded to its own accuracy with a new video posted on its official account with the caption, "The Simpsons updates its 2000 prediction of a Trump Presidency..."

Using Bart's line-writing segment of the opening sequence to say, "Being right sucks," the team is not hiding its feelings on Trump's win.

That's not to say the show has been reticent on these matters in the past: Back in August, it was announced that Seinfeld star Jason Alexander would star in an episode parodying Trump in a not-so-subtle way. Earlier that month, Simpsons executive producer Al Jean said he hopes the show's first ever live episode "won't be the last thing people see before a Trump inauguration."

In the interests of balance, the show has repeatedly poked fun at the Clinton family, with one particular short--released in July--mocking both Trump and 2016 Democrat candidate Hilary Clinton.

Fox recently renewed The Simpsons for two more seasons--its 29th and 30th on air. Come the end of season 30, The Simpsons will be the longest-running scripted TV show ever, surpassing Western drama series Gunsmoke.
