Over a live broadcast on Twitch, Riot Games drew the sixteen teams into four groups based on the standings in their respective regions. The players from Korea, Southeast Asia, China, Europe, North America and the Wildcard Regions (Turkey, Brazil) will play each of their group opponents twice in a round-robin fashion to determine the two best contenders, which are to continue forward into the playoff stage.
