Amazon Studios has announced three more cast members for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. Cirian Hinds (Game of Thrones), Rory Kinnear (James Bond series), and Tanya Moodie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) are joining the cast for the sophomore season.
Amazon did not disclose their roles in its official announcement, but the company said each actor will play a recurring role. Season 2 is now filming in the UK.
Hinds played Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones and Aberforth Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movie series. Kinnear is known for portraying Bill Tanner in multiple James Bond films, including Skyfall and Spectre. Moodie, meanwhile, played General Parnadee in The Rise of Skywalker.
In other news, The Rings of Power's Joseph Mawle, who played Adar, has dropped out for Season 2. He was replaced by Sam Hazeldine.
Season 1 ended with a major revelation about a particular character, and Season 2 will dig into this, but beyond that, the plot is a mystery.
In addition to The Rings of Power Season 2, there are new The Lord of the Rings movies in development right now, but it's still very early days. On the more immediate horizon, there are five more Lord of the Rings video games set for release in the next two years.
