Ever since the release of Red Dead Redemption, the excellent open world game released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 years ago, fans of the series have been asking about another game set in the unforgiving Wild West world created by Rockstar Games. Rumors of a possible sequel have surfaced online somewhat frequently, and another one recently started circulating online, with a poster revealing the Red Dead Retribution name and release date. Unfortunately, this poster is not real.
The Retribution poster is part of a well crafted project put together by a fan who wished to create a mock-up sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Everything came out so well that he eventually decided to send everything to Rockstar Games.

A sequel called Retribution may not be coming, but there's still the chance that another Red Dead may be currently in development, as what seems like an in-game map has surfaced online a few months ago. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also defined the franchise as permanent in the past, so there's a good chance that another entry of the series is in the works.
While the Retribution rumor has been shot down, there's another recent Red Dead Redemption rumor which has yet to be proven false. According to Korean website Gamefocus.co.kr, an HD remaster is going to be announced this week, likely at the PlayStation Meeting, with the game releasing early next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Red Dead Redemption is now available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is also playable on Xbox One through Backwards Compatibility.
