In The Outlast Trials, you can’t really defend yourself. If you get caught, you won’t be able to kill your enemy, and you can only try to free yourself before it’s too late. Therefore, the wisest option is to hide from your foes and complete the trials by unleashing your stealth skills. If enemies spot you, your best chance of surviving is to run away from them and hope they don’t find you anytime soon.

　　As you progress in The Outlast Trials, however, you will be able to unlock new abilities and perks that will enhance your experience. In particular, quite early in the game, you will get a chance to buy a specific Prescription from the Pharmacy, which lets you slide while running to enhance your chances of completing the trial. How to unlock Slide in The Outlast Trials

　　Once done, you can reach the Pharmacy. You can find it if you enter the hallway on the right of the Murkoff facility’s main room; from here, you will see the exact directions on the floor. You will be able to talk to the pharmacist and check the Tier 1 Prescriptions. Select Slide to unlock it, but make sure you have enough funds before doing so.  These funds, called Vouchers, can be acquired by leveling up and completing trials with high grades. Each Prescription perk will cost you 1 Voucher, but the purchase can’t be refunded, so always choose wisely.

How to Slide

　　The Slide mechanic will help you escape from monsters in the trials. For example, you could use it to slip under a passage that otherwise would have required crouching, inevitably slowing you down. You can also slide under gates faster, reaching the area you want to and blocking enemies behind.

　　The Slide should be the first Prescription you unlock in The Outlast Trials because it is such a game changer and gives you better chances of surviving through trials. If you’re playing with a team, this will benefit the whole squad. You will be faster while performing some of the most critical actions, and they won’t need to be coming back and helping you because you haven’t managed to escape in time from an enemy.
