The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Only Getting One More 3-Minute Trailer Pre-Launch-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 10:57 PM

Since announcing a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild years ago, Nintendo has kept fans on a drip feed when it comes to new information and footage. Thus far, all we’ve seen of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has come via a small handful of brief teaser trailers and a 10-minute chunk of gameplay that was restricted to one narrow section of the game and mostly focused on Link’s new abilities. With Tears of the Kingdom only a month away, there was some hope that Nintendo would really ramp up the promotional machine, giving us a lot more footage, trailers, and more, but you may want to temper your expectations.

Nintendo has announced they'll be dropping a new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer tomorrow. They’ve also announced it will be the final trailer before the game launches. According to Nintendo, it will be around three minutes long.

Join us on April 13th, 7 a.m. PT to watch the final pre-launch trailer for The Legend of #Zelda: #TearsOfTheKingdom, livestreamed on our YouTube channel. The trailer will be roughly 3 minutes long.

So, it seems Nintendo is determined to play it mysterious with the marketing for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Can’t really blame them – the game more-or-less sells itself, to the point showing too much may actually ruin some of the anticipation. That said, while this will be the last trailer, there’s a chance we still get another gameplay showcase, although I wouldn’t pin all your hopes on that.

As for what this new Tears of the Kingdom trailer might show, personally, I’m hoping we get more of a taste of the story. Nothing too spoilery, but something that gives us a better sense of what’s actually going on in the game. Oh, and if Nintendo wants to give us a peek at TotK’s dungeons (assuming the game has dungeons) that would be much appreciated.

Haven’t been keeping up with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Here’s everything you need to know about Link’s latest adventure. You can also check out the latest gameplay showcase here.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives on Nintendo Switch on May 12. The final pre-launch trailer drops tomorrow (April 13) at 7am PT.
