Following the release of the game's final trailer, a The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom TV ad leaked online, providing fans of the series another short look at the game before it launches next month on Nintendo Switch.
The new ad, which was shared on Reddit, features some never seen before footage that showcases some of Link's abilities, such as the ability to glide and the new Ascend ability, Hyrule Castle, a dark cave featuring a simple puzzle, rails that allow for quick traveling between sky islands and a new Gleook variant.
While being a direct sequel may have disappointed some, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is looking better and better with each new reveal. Yesterday's final trailer provided a new look at the new sky islands, what look like proper dungeons, and more. The trailer also confirmed how players won't be dealing with an enemy like Calamity Ganon anymore, as a more classic Ganondorf will be the main antagonist.
It's not just the gameplay that will set The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom apart from its predecessor, but also its price tag, as the next entry in the series will be the first Nintendo first-party game to cost $69.99. While this price increase is definitely controversial, the Japanese publisher feels it reflects the game's deeply immersive experience, which will also feature gameplay that will let players change the game's world. Thankfully, the $69.99 price tag won't be the standard for future Nintendo games, as the price will be determined depending on each game's features and content.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases on Nintendo Switch worldwide on May 12th. You can bring yourself back up to speed on everything regarding the next entry in the popular series by heading over here.
