The Legend of Zelda is a series which has clout. It is a series that gets fans to edge of their seats, whether it's because of an indie game collaboration, a brand new mainline title, or a remake of a fan favorite. And Nintendo is the kind of developer that will show new footage of all three of the above in a single Nintendo Direct broadcast, sending fans into a frenzy.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was debuted earlier this year with an adorable gameplay trailer that showed off a sweet chibi art style that's sure to make fans squeal with glee. Now, we get another brand new gameplay trailer which shows off more areas and some previously unannounced features.
The trailer shows Link washed up on the shore of Koholint Island before Marin takes him into her home. We see the inside of her home, in addition to some more of the overworld, including Link cutting down grass, in addition to some monsters.
It looks like a complete revelation when compared to the original Game Boy release of the game, and fans are sure to be pleased by the authentic gameplay combined with some brand new features.
One of the new features is given to you by Dampe the gravekeeper from Ocarina of Time, who shows the player how to create their own dungeons. Yes, just like in Super Mario Maker 2, the player can create their own stages here, probably to share online with others.
This is an amazing addition to the game, which is sure to extend the longevity of the experience since the original Game Boy game is actually quite a short adventure. Definitely a wonderful feature that will have players creating some interesting experiences, assuming the tools allow enough depth.
