A few hours ago, Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have released patch 1.1.1 for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. Clocking in at slightly more than 3GB, the update doesn't bring any performance optimizations that were the focus of previous patches. However, it does fix a ton of bugs and crashes and also resolves the checkerboard patterns that appeared on screen when using Motion Blur on AMD RX 580 and RX 590 series GPUs.

He may have been referring to a PS5/PC release, though that's just speculation for now.
