Despite some hefty Sunday-night competition, The Last of Us continues to climb to new heights in viewership with each passing week. 7.5 million viewers tuned in to the series this weekend across HBO and HBO Max, HBO announced in a press release.
The Last of Us Episode 4 has Joel and Ellie fighting against bandits and more, but the show itself had to fight against the 65th annual Grammy Awards this week, after fighting against the AFC Championship last weekend. Despite that, episode 4's 7.5 million number is a 17% increase versus episode 3, which pulled in 6.4 million.

Even HBO knows when it's beaten, though, so with the Super Bowl happening this Sunday, the network is making The Last of Us Episode 5 available on HBO Max on Friday, February 10, at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. You don't mess with the Super Bowl.
The Last of Us is adapted from the Sony PlayStation game of the same name, and stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, along with Anna Torv, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, and others. The Last of Us is in its first season, but has been renewed for Season 2 as of last week. Read up on some of the changes from the game, such as giving the resistance fighters Joel and Ellie encounter a leader among many others. If the show has you itching to check out the source material, if only to hear more of Ellie's puns, The Last of Us Part 1, a remake of the original 2013 game, is coming to PC on March 3 after launching on PlayStation 5 in September.
