The Game Awards 2023: Watch the Big Show and All the Reveals Here!-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 4:27 PM

The Game Awards 2023 is almost here, and it’s sure to deliver a hearty dose of the things the show is known for – speeches, musical numbers, Geoff Keighley awkwardly reading ad copy, and, of course, new trailers and reveals. This year, the show is dropping the “World Premiere” branding for the new trailers and footage shown, but Geoff Keighley actually promises more reveals than usual.

The Game Awards 2023 kicks off this evening (December 7) at 4:30pm PT/7:30pm ET/12:30am GMT. You can watch the show on YouTube, Twitch, and other streaming services. In fact, we’ve got the video right here! Just push play, watch along, and comment below.

So, what can we expect from The Game Awards 2023? A few things have been confirmed – the Xbox release date of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be revealed, and we’ll get new updates on Metaphor: ReFantazio, Guilty Gear Strive, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, and more. Oh, and Gonzo from the muppets will be there. Wouldn’t be The Game Awards without Geoff Keighly trying to make small talk with a puppet.

Moving into the realm of rumor, Xbox is said to be bringing something to the show, with 2024’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II being a leading contender. Sega will also be there, with teases perhaps pointing to a Virtua Fighter revival. There are also rumors we’ll get a first look at God of War Ragnarok DLC and Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, although the latter may just be wishful thinking. Also, there’s always a good chance Geoff’s buddy Hideo Kojima will be involved in some capacity, so perhaps we get another look at Death Stranding 2 or a first look at his Xbox project.

Of course, The Game Awards will also have… awards! You can check out the full list of nominees here. The titles competing for Game of the Year are Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

What do you think? What reveals do you hope to see during The Game Awards tonight? Which games do you expect to see bring home trophies?
