The Evil Within 2 Biggest Focus Is The Narrative; Players Will Have More Freedom Than Before-November 2024
Nov 28, 2024 7:58 PM

The Evil Within, the survival horror game directed by Resident Evil series creator Shinji Mikami, was definitely a good game, but many of its features could have been better implemented. It seems like the team did learn from its mistakes, and The Evil Within 2, launching later this year, is setting out to be one of the best survival horror games of 2017.

Speaking with Famitsu, Shinji Mikami and the game's director John Johanas further elaborated on how the team is spicing up The Evil Within 2's experience. Talking about the actual gameplay, it's been confirmed that players will have more freedom than before on how to complete each of the game's chapters, as there won't be forced stealth and combat scenarios.

According to Mikami and Johanas, The Evil Within 2's main focus is the narrative. The team didn't just want to make a game scarier than its predecessor, but actually wanted to create the best possible story for the setting that has been established in the original game. It's also been noted how the second half of the story will be particularly engaging and, as such, the team is suggesting not to give up on the game because of the difficulty.

Speaking about difficulty levels, it's also been confirmed that Casual, Survival and Nightmare settings will be available at the start of the game.

The Evil Within 2 launches this October on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
