Day one of the EU LCS has come and gone. Things didn't always go as expected; Gambit dropped their first game, and The Alliance looked shaky overall. A new day dawns, however, and new matchups present themselves for redemption.

SUPA HOT CREW XD vs. The Alliance

SHC looked alright against Team ROCCAT in the early going. That is, until Team ROCCAT started chaining Malphite ultimates into Pantheon drops. SHC only managed a single tower and five kills in their LCS debut, marking a less than impressive start. Their second match comes against a reeling Alliance team. The hype train surrounding the super group derailed hard after they failed to secure a victory against either the #9 ranked Fnatic, or the new Wolves roster. SHC is lucky The Alliance is unsteady at the moment, otherwise they wouldn't be given a chance. As it stands, SHC can capitalize on The Alliance's weakened position.

  #9 Fnatic vs. SK Gaming

Fnatic are flying high after destroying their rivals, Gambit Gaming. Their second game against The Alliance showcased brilliant maneuvers that left the super team in shambles (a particular push in top lane with Vi and Jinx comes to mind). Martin 'Rekkles' Larsson and Bora 'YellOwStaR' Kim were absolutely dominant. Kim (1/0/23 overall on the day) set them up, and Larsson (15/0/14 overall on the day) knocked them down. SK Gaming played one game against Millenium and looked strong at the start, dropping the top tower with a three man push in under 4 minutes. That level of aggression may not be an issue for Fnatic, who are adept at rotating. In the end, SK should be worried about Kim and Larsson simply dumping on their bot lane.

  Millenium vs. #4 Gambit Gaming

Despite losing a tower very early, Millenium looked strong against SK Gaming. They moved well as a team, transitioning fluidly from each stage of the game. SK was able to stall the momentum for a while, but Millenium eventually sealed the deal. Are they on Gambit's level, though? Possibly. Some seeds of doubt have been sown in regards to the Russians. This was supposed to be Moscow 5 version 2.0, yet they couldn't keep pace with Fnatic. Aleksei 'Alex Ich' Ichetovkin's Le Blanc fell flat, but his resurgence as Kha'Zix against the Wolves proved to be a wise move. If Gambit is able to continue playing to their strengths, they should have no issue against Millenium.

The Copenhagen Wolves vs. SK Gaming

The Wolves shocked the world with a dominant win over The Alliance in their opener. Viktor 'cowTard' Styme's Kayle pick proved to be a stoke of genius. His Interventions extended teammate's lives and negated critical damage, swinging fights in the Wolves' favor. In fact, Gambit Gaming banned Kayle in the Wolves' second game, and they were crushed without the champion. Could the Wolves be a one trick pony? SK Gaming will prove or disprove that theory when they ban Kayle. SK Gaming, on the other hand, needs to shore up some issues to be able to simply compete. One of the most important things is simple positioning. SK lost more than one objective by getting picked off, effectively taking themselves out of their game against Millenium. If SK can maintain their breakneck pace they showed in the opening minutes of their first match, they should stand a chance to get back on track.

  Team ROCCAT vs Millenium

Team ROCCAT impressed a lot of people in their opening match against SUPA HOT CREW. Remiguisz 'Overpow' Pusch and Marcin 'Xaxus' Maczka' Pantheon and Malphite combo not only proved disastrous for SHC, but it was expertly executed as well. Those kinds of unorthodox strategies should worry Millenium. So far, we've seen Millenium be able to capitalize on picking off wandering or ill-positioned opponents, and their movement as a team looks solid. On top of that, Jakub 'Creaton' Grzegorzewski destroyed as Ezreal, taking home a 10/0/7 score against SK. But how will they hold up against a team like ROCCAT, who showed more composure than many expected (and looked more solid than SK)? ROCCAT passed up Yasuo when Malphite was locked in. Malphite's ultimate leads beautifully into Yasuo's. Who ignores that opportunity? ROCCAT, that's who. Is that confidence? Arrogance? Millenium is probably scratching their heads wondering what ROCCAT will pull out, or pass up, next.
