The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan isn’t available until tomorrow, but the next entry in Supermassive Games’ horror anthology has already been revealed. YouTube channel RapidRetrospectGames has been doing some digging into Man of Medan, and has found a hidden teaser trailer for The Dark Pictures: Little Hope, which you can check out below. Note: The trailer doesn’t contain any spoilers for Man of Medan, but if you want to unlock it yourself, you may want to hold off.
As you can see, Little Hope relocates the horror from the high seas to more of a Stephen-King-inspired small-town setting, and it seems like we may be dealing with witches this time around. It would appear Little Hope’s main character, Andrew, is being played by Will Poulter, who has plenty of horror experience having appeared in Midsommar and Black Mirror – Bandersatch. That’s about all we know about Little Hope at the moment, but perhaps we’ll learn more from Supermassive once Man of Medan is released and more players start unlocking the teaser trailer.
The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan had some issues, but showed promise, so hopefully Supermassive can really deliver with Little Hope, even if the title doesn’t inspire confidence. You can check out my full Man of Medan review here…
At its best, Man of Medan is every bit as gripping, beautiful, and giddily silly as Until Dawn, but technical issues, a rushed story, and a confusing approach to player choice betray the limited resources the game’s creators had to work with. Man of Medan is currently the best option for those desperate for more Until Dawn, but I'm hoping Supermassive Games can scare up something a little more substantial for future The Dark Pictures titles.
The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan creeps onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 tomorrow (August 30). Little Hope will arrive sometime in 2020.
