Amazon's subversive superhero show The Boys was one of 2019's most acclaimed shows, and Season 2 is on the way. The release date was revealed last week, and now the first trailer is here.
The trailer sets up the new season, which sees the superhero-hating team of the title in hiding, with their boss, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), nowhere to be found. Meanwhile the superhero group known as the Seven are facing their own inner turmoil, with the addition of new member Stormfront. Luckily, the Butcher makes his appearance, throwing deadpan one-liners and taking absolutely no s*** from anyone. Oh, and it's all set to a Billy Joel song. It looks as funny, foul-mouthed, gory, and entertaining as Season 1--check the trailer out below.
The Boys also stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Antony Starr. Season 2 hits Amazon Video on September 4, and while Season 1 was released in its entirety in July last year, Season 2 will have a different release pattern. The first 3 episodes will arrive on September 4, with the remaining five releasing weekly for the next five weeks. The show is based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
