The coronavirus has caused closures and delays of every sort, and now it appears that even the caped crusader isn't immune. Variety has reported that Warner Bros. has stopped the production of the upcoming Batman film The Batman due to coronavirus concerns.
There's no cause for DC fans to panic yet because the halt is only scheduled to last two weeks. For now, the June 25, 2021 release date is still set, but it's unclear whether this delay will have an effect.

Now Playing: Joker 'Definitely Will Not' Meet Batman
The two other major Warner Bros. films currently in production, Matrix 4 and King Richard, are still on their regular production schedule as of now, with no interruptions announced. Matrix 4 is currently shooting in Berlin on a soundstage, and King Richard is filming in Los Angeles but has had to pause production anyway because of bad weather.
The Batman is joining a laundry list of films and events affected by COVID-19, including cancellations of events like E3 and SXSW, and production delays on blockbusters like Jurassic World: Dominion.
Even so, the show must go on, and The Batman is still set to be released in 2021 and will star Robert Pattison, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Colin Ferrel as the Penguin.
