3DO stopped by our offices today with some new info on Army Men Air Tactics, the next installment in the popular Army Men series. In the game, players will once again join Sergeant "Sarge" Hawk and the green army to do battle with the evil Tans, led as usual by General Plastro. But this time around players won't lead the infantry; they'll instead take to the air with Captain William Blade in his attack chopper and provide air support for Sarge and his troops.

　　Army Men Air Tactics will have the same kind of toy-scaled look and easy-to-use pick-up gameplay as its predecessors. Players will control Captain Blade's chopper with a simple keyboard/mouse combination in more than 20 different missions set in "Our World." The missions themselves are set in such exotic locations as the Garden, the Sandbox, and, of course, the Bathroom. And Sarge and the Greens are just as likely to equip themselves with machine guns and rocket launchers as they are to arm themselves with firecrackers and hair dryers as they drive around in their miniature jeeps and trucks.

　　Throughout the course of the game, Captain Blade will have access to three different attack choppers and a great many weapon and miscellaneous power-ups. Though players won't be able to give orders to Sarge and his troops directly, mission objectives will let players exert indirect control over the infantry by using signal beacons to direct the troops, picking them up and dropping them off at waypoints, and even letting them take automatic control of mounted sidearms on the chopper if they're onboard.

　　Players will be able to rejoin Sarge and his troops when Army Men Air Attack is released this April. In the meantime, we've got some screenshots as well as the playable demo.
