Terminator franchise seeks Redemption
Terminator franchise seeks Redemption-January 2024
Jan 12, 2025 9:43 PM

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." That old adage seems to be the watchword at Atari today when the publisher announced Terminator 3: Redemption, the second game based on the third Terminator film. The notice came in spite of the critical drubbing bestowed on the first T3 game, the Black Ops-developed Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Even though Rise of the Machines featured a trailer for Redemption, some experts speculated that the former game's hostile reception and lagging sales would cause the latter to be terminated itself.

Developed by Atari's in-house studio Paradigm Entertainment, Redemption will again let gamers step into the skin--and metal endoskeleton--of a terminator. As in the Terminator films and Rise of the Machines, that machine will feature the likeness and voice of then-actor and now-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Terminator 3: Redemption is due to be released in summer 2004 for the GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2.
