In June, Telltale inked a deal with NBC Universal that would allow the California studio to craft games from the Back to the Future and Jurassic Park film franchises. The former has since been released to a positive reception, but now, the dinosaur game has a release window. The fossils come to life this April.
The world premiere trailer for Jurassic Park: The Game is now live on Telltale Games' website, and it shows an "April 2011" release date for the first episode in the series.
Telltale remains tight-lipped on its narrative intention for the series. However, Telltale design director Dave Grossman told GameSpot in June that Jurassic Park: The Game will offer gamers a new take on the point-and-click genre.
"We don't want this to be something where you hang around and solve things at your own pace…spend a lot of thinking time, trying to figure out 'What do I do with this tool?' or whatever," he said. "It's going to be a much more closed-in, claustrophobic, directed kind of an experience. It's going to be you racing to do some small task really quickly before a dinosaur comes around the corner and eats you. Or even if he's not about to, you're going to think that he is."
