Telltale adapting Back to the Future, Jurassic Park-March 2024
Mar 26, 2025 7:41 AM

Prehistoric creatures and time-traveling teens will fall under the same roof when Jurassic Park and Back to the Future are reworked for the small screen by Telltale Games. The episodic adventure game studio today announced a partnership with NBC Universal that will bring video games based on the popular film franchises to market beginning this winter. Another island?

The two-title development deal debuts with a season of Back to the Future this winter, followed "shortly" by Jurassic Park. Telltale did not specify how many installments each season will be composed of, but previous series Sam & Max, Strong Bad, and Tales of Monkey Island each spanned five episodes. Details surrounding the movie-based games remain under wraps. However, Telltale did note the partnership with NBC Universal will allow it to broaden its offerings "into new genres and new styles of gameplay."

According to an Associated Press report, the two seasons will appear on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, and Mac. Additionally, the report states the games are in early stages of development and will extend the Back to the Future and Jurassic Park narratives. As of press time, Telltale Games has not responded for comment on the matter.

Telltale Games develops episodic adventure games for the PC, Mac, WiiWare, Xbox Live, and other digital destinations. The studio's ongoing effort is the third season of the Sam & Max series, and in the past, it has released episodic adventures based on Aardman Animations' Wallace and Gromit series and the Tales of Monkey Island series.
