The rights to the popular online action game Tanarus have been acquired by RedEye Interactive.
Since its debut, Tanarus has been maintained by members of RedEye's staff, who helped develop the game, although the game had been previously licensed under the auspices of 989 Studios.
"The acquisition of Tanarus demonstrates RedEye's commitment to the online gaming community and our intention to push Internet gaming to new heights by creating and maintaining highly addictive, immersive, and persistent gaming environments," said John Smedley, president and CEO of RedEye Interactive Inc.
"We are extremely pleased with the acquisition of Tanarus and are planning a series of new promotions and enhancements to ensure it remains one of the best online games on the Net," said Russell Shanks, RedEye's chief technology officer and producer of Tanarus.
RedEye continues to develop Tanarus as well as the anticipated online game EverQuest.
