TalonSoft announced today that it will develop and publish Star Leader, which is expected to ship in fall 2001. Star Leader is an action-oriented real-time strategy/role-playing game in which players serve as the commander of an elite team of colonial marines dedicated to protecting humanity from deadly alien races that lurk in the dark recesses of space. The main character gains experience, prestige, and glory while protecting the expanding empire of SOL 3.
Although details about the game have not been announced, several basic features were revealed. Players will recruit their team from a variety of unique soldiers, all of which have different statistics, talents, and personalities. Star Leader will also feature more than 20 missions and detailed 3D graphics created by TalonSoft's new proprietary 3D world builder, Ascension. In addition, the game will include multiplayer support for up to 12 players in cooperative play over a LAN or Internet connection.
