Take-Two announced today that it has appointed Paul Eibeler to serve as its president. Eibeler fills the position vacated by Barry Rutcofsky, who has been named co-chairman and director for the company. Anthony Williams, who previously served as co-chairman, will remain a director.
"I look forward to the opportunity to maximize Take-Two's various resources and build its position as a leader in the interactive entertainment industry," said Eibeler. "I am extremely optimistic about Take-Two's future prospects, particularly its ability to address the markets for next-generation platforms and innovative gaming solutions."
Prior to joining Take-Two, Eibeler, age 44, was a consultant for Microsoft's Xbox launch team, as well as for W-Trade, an online financial services provider. He also worked for Essential Realities. From 1998 to 1999 Eibeler served as Acclaim Entertainment's executive vice-president and general manager. During the seven years prior to that, he held various executive positions with Impact, a leading supplier of licensed toys and school supplies.
"Paul truly adds a depth of management that will complement our team," stated Ryan Brant, CEO of Take-Two Interactive. "His consumer expertise and management experience will be an immediate asset to our company. I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with Paul to strategically position Take-Two for the future."
