Take-Two Interactive has today announced its financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended January 31, 2004. Net sales for the quarter were $375.5 million compared to $411 million for the same period a year earlier, while net income for the quarter fell from $51.5 million to $31.8 million. Take-Two attributes this year's drop in profits to the fact that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was so successful when it was first released in October 2002.
For the fiscal year ending October 31, 2004, Take-Two is predicting net sales of $1.22 billion. Achieving that figure will no doubt be made easier by the scheduled release of the recently announced Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on October 19.
