Take-Two Interactive has revealed that it is currently planning eight games for the Microsoft Xbox. It plans to release two games for the launch of the Xbox in fall 2001, and the other six games will be released in the months following the console's launch. Regarding the other next-generation platforms, the company plans to release two games for the launch of the Nintendo GameCube in October and will release 12 games for the Sony PlayStation 2 by the end of the year 2001. In fact, one of its major PS2 projects, the next-generation Grand Theft Auto being developed by DMA Designs, will be released in summer 2001. Take-Two will also release Oni for the PS2, along with versions for the Mac and PC, in January 2001.
Take-Two has already shown strong support for the PS2 with four games available at launch, including Smuggler's Run and Midnight Club: Street Racing - sequels for both titles are already under development. No specific details on Take-Two's Xbox and GameCube games are available at this time. On the Dreamcast front, the company will release Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 this winter.
