Birmingham, UK-based Swordfish Studios has announced it will open another office in Manchester. The company is currently in the middle of a recruitment drive for new employees, and the new office will serve as a base for the influx of new staff. It also revealed that it is currently working on an "as yet, unnamed next-generation project" for Sierra Entertainment.
Swordfish Studios was founded in 2002 and worked on titles including first-person shooter Cold Winter and World Championship Rugby. In June 2005, the independent game developer was acquired by Vivendi.
Vivendi Games can afford to splash out--the parent company, which owns Sierra and Blizzard Entertainment and runs the World of Warcraft, recently reported profits of a staggering 190 percent over the same period the prior year.
