There were some confusing reports on the Web earlier this week that the planned free multiplayer add-on for SWAT 3 might have been canceled, and that the online functionality might only be available by purchasing the upcoming retail expansion, SWAT 3: Elite Edition. The official SWAT 3 site confirmed today that this is not the case. The add-on - formerly known as SWAT 3: Battle Plan - will still be available as a free upgrade for registered users later this fall, but will now simply share the name Elite Edition.
