Super Smash Bros Ultimate Online Matchmaking In Under Investigation, Director Confirms
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Online Matchmaking In Under Investigation, Director Confirms-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 8:30 AM

Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the latest entry in the series released earlier this month on Nintendo Switch, is currently being plagued by some matchmaking issues which have yet to be fixed.

In a recent Famitsu column, translated by Twitter user BlackKite,  director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that these issues are currently under investigation. Currently, the game often matches people together despite their different rules settings, which is quite annoying for those who prefer to play stock matches instead of free-for-all matches and so on.

Currently investigating how the matching in Smash Special/Ultimate isn’t going well.

Masahiro Sakurai also spoke about the development of Joker from Persona 5, who will be released in the future as DLC.

Joker isn’t currently in a playable state but we’re steadily producing him. Personally I have high respects for P5 so I really think working on him is a job that gives me inexhaustible stimulus.

The Super Smash Bros Ultimate online issues are the only flaw in what Dave considers one of the best entries in the series, if not the very best.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is definitely the Ultimate rendition of a beloved series. It's still the most accessible and interesting fighting game out there, and it's now better than ever. A little familiar in places, but this is the best Smash has ever been. Another essential Nintendo Switch game.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is now available on Nintendo Switch.
