After substantial delays related to the pandemic, Super Nintendo World in Japan is scheduled to open on March 18. The theme park is located inside Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.

　　The theme park features a Mario Kart ride, an AR ride where you fight Bowser Jr., and a variety of Mario-themed food, among numerous other attractions and experiences. The park was supposed to open in February but was delayed due to the pandemic.

　　The announcement statement from Nintendo (below) shows excited attendees jumping like Mario and wearing masks. Universal Studios Japan, like other theme parks around the world, is adopting a series of health and safety measures due to the pandemic such as mandatory masks and a limited capacity overall.

　　The Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood, as well as Singapore, are also going to feature the Super Nintendo World attractions, but not until later. Recently, the local mayor in Orlando said the Super Nintendo World park should open in early 2025.

　　While you may not be able to visit Super Nintendo World in person for some time, you can virtually visit the park through Nintendo's interactive website.

　　In addition to this theme park, Nintendo is working with Universal's parent company--Comcast--on an animated Mario movie from the makers of Minions.

　　In other theme park news, California recently announced that theme parks can re-open on April 1, which paves the way for Disneyland to open for visitors once again.
