Remember a few years ago when Fox introduced the 360-degree camera set up during the Ravens/Giants Super Bowl? The idea being that you could watch Kerry Collins being sacked from nearly any angle imagineable, or spin around Collins Matrix-style as he tossed errant ball after errant ball.
Now the Fox crew has upped the broadcast insanity ante with a number of miniscule turf cams which will be installed in the field for Sunday's Super Bowl in Jacksonville. Two of the eraser-sized cameras will be planted at the 20-yard line facing each end zone, and the other two will be set at the three yard lines to capture snaps for extra points. Because the cameras will be placed on the field, there's a chance they could be trampled by a succession of 280-pound lineman which would, of course, be awesome.
