Sunrise Interactive announced on Wednesday that it will release Kikou Seiki G-Breaker for the Sony PlayStation2. The Japanese company is best known for developing the upcoming Dreamcast title Sunrise Heroes Chapter. The PS2 game is a prequel to the Dreamcast game, and it takes place 20 years earlier. The game features originally designed mechs (called GTs), and unlike Sunrise Heroes Chapter, the game will not feature any of the popular anime mechs like Gundam or Gaogaiger. The roster for the mech designers of the game is quite impressive, including talented artists such as Shoji Kawamori (Omega Boost, Armored Core and Macross), Junya Ishigaki (Xenogears), and Kunio Okawara (the Gundam series).
Kikou Seiki G-Breaker for the Sony PlayStation2 is slated for a summer 2000 release in Japan. Stay tuned for more details.
