Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been the subject of plenty of complaints and controversy over its live-service focus, and while recent PR hasn’t really focused on this aspect of the game, it doesn’t mean any of that stuff has actually gone anywhere. Case in point, early on it was revealed that Suicide Squad will be an always-online game, and it seems that probably hasn’t changed… at least at launch.

　　According to an official post on the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Discord server, the game will get an offline single-player mode eventually, but the wording implies the option won’t be there on Day 1…

　　“We’re happy to confirm, we are planning to add an offline story mode that will give players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. We’re aiming to add this update in 2024 and will provide more details when available.”

　　Again, this is indicative of the fine line Rocksteady is trying to walk, perhaps dialing live service elements back slightly, or just not talking about them, without completely junking them. Will players be convinced by this approach? We’ll see. It’s a shame we have to debate this, because in a lot of ways Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looks quite good.
