Just as Capcom is slowly doling out the latest roster of world warriors to take to the two-dimensional ring in Street Fighter 4, the publisher is incrementally rolling out the cast of the upcoming Chun-Li biopic Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li from Hyde Park Films and 20th Century Fox.
The bulk of that cast was revealed a month ago to the day, when Variety pegged Smallville vixen Kristen Kreuk as taking on the titular lead role, with Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile, Daredevil) donning knuckle dusters as Balrog, Chris Klein (American Pie, Rollerball) as Guile compatriot Nash, and Rick Yune (The Fast and the Furious, Alone in the Dark II) as wizened master Gen.
Today, Capcom parted the casting-call curtain to a near-full reveal with word that Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers, They Call Him Sasquatch) would be stepping into the shoes once filled by Raul Julia as M. Bison. With Variety noting last month that Black Eyed Peas crooner Taboo would be featured in the film, Capcom today said the singer-turned-actor will assume the role of narcissistic Spaniard Vega.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is expected to hit theaters worldwide in 2009. Street Fighter IV will arrive far sooner, hitting Japanese arcades as early as this summer.
