Stranger Things Season 2 releases next year, and with it come new cast members and characters. Dacre Montgomery, the Red Ranger in next year's Power Rangers, has joined the cast, alongside Sadie Sink who played Suzanne Ballard in television series American Odyssey.
EW reports that Montgomery plays a character named Billy. He's the step brother to Ballard's character, Max, and is described as "hyper-confident and edgy."
"He steals girlfriends away from their boyfriends, is great at drinking games, and drives a black Camaro," EW's description continues. "But lurking under his apparent charisma, is a violent and unpredictable nature."
Max, on the other hand, is "a tough and confident girl whose appearance, behavior, and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era. She has a complicated history and is generally suspicious of those around her." It'll be interesting to see how the two characters play off each other and the rest of the cast.
Speaking of the cast, both Joe Keery and Noah Schnapp, who played Steve Harrington and Will Byers respectively, now have full-time regular roles, as opposed to the recurring ones we saw them fill in the first season.
Stranger Things showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer have a rough idea of where the story could go in seasons past the second. However, the two brothers don't expect the show to run for all that long.
