Strange Brigade’s Latest Trailer Showcases Co-op Gameplay and Marauding Mummies-October 2024

Strange Brigade, the rollicking 1930s-set co-op adventure from Sniper Elite creators Rebellion Developments, has dropped a new gameplay-heavy trailer. This new look at Strange Brigade gives us a first peek at the Hidden Valley area (Are we searching for the ranch dressing recipe?) and the game’s four-player co-op action. We also get a look at some of the game’s traps and puzzles, and each character’s unique supernatural abilities. They don’t call ‘em the Strange Brigade for nothing! Check out the trailer, below.

Haven’t been keeping up with Strange Brigade? Here’s what the game’s all about:

“Strange Brigade is a rip-roaring third-person 1930s adventure for one to four players, full of peril, intrigue, and good old derring-do. As a fully-fledged member of the team, you’ll investigate remote corners of the British Empire where few dare go and fewer return. And there in the unfamiliar you will encounter fantastic and forgotten civilizations, and maybe even unearth hidden treasures.

But should you somehow survive the mind-bending puzzles and dastardly traps of this ancient world, doom still awaits you in the shadows — a truly petrifying army of mythological menaces stands in your way, unleashed by an Egyptian witch queen so nefarious they wiped her from the hieroglyphs. As one of four debonair explorers, you have your own strengths and, by Jove, superhuman powers to boot. Fight to protect King and country against such impossible forces of evil!”

I’ve always said modern games could use a little more derring-do. Are you interested in Strange Brigade? The four-player co-op concept is, arguably, a bit stale, but the setting, level design, and action all look plenty appealing. The Sniper Elite games are seriously underrated, so I’m definitely willing to give whatever Rebellion tries a chance.

Strange Brigade boldly ventures onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on August 28.
