Actor Steven Yeun, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for the movie Minari, is now in talks to appear in Jordan Peele's next movie. Deadline heard from sources that Yeun "is in negotiations" to appear in the mysterious movie, which Peele is writing and directing.
The movie has already cast Keke Palmer in a lead role, while Daniel Kaluuya--who starred in Peele's Get Out--is said to be in talks for the movie. Peele won an Oscar for Get Out.
Importantly, there is no deal in place yet for Yeun to star in the new Jordan Peele movie. Kaluuya also hasn't officially put pen to paper, the report said. Before this, it was rumored that Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons would have a role in the new movie, but he reportedly had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.
The new movie is scheduled to debut on July 22, 2022 from film studio Universal, but Peele is keeping the plot details under wraps to preserve the mystery as he's known to do. As such, there is no word yet on the story, the characters, or anything else.
Peele is an in-demand director, as his movies Get Out and Us were both big successes in terms of critical reviews and commercial success. The two films made more than $500 million together, which is a huge result.
As for Yeun, he is known primarily for playing Glenn on The Walking Dead. Outside of film, Yeun voiced characters in Crysis.
