Starfield FX Mod by Team EVE Improves Many Visual Effects
Starfield FX Mod by Team EVE Improves Many Visual Effects-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 7:28 PM

  The first comprehensive Starfield FX mod has been released by Weijiesen and Team EVE, previously known to the Bethesda modding community for their EVE mods made for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

  This Starfield FX mod (called EXE - Effect Textures Enhanced) aims to ultimately overhaul every visual effect in the game, including but not limited to:

  Explosions (all of them!)Weapon FX (muzzle flashes, impacts, etc.)Gore (with bonus gore to come!)Storms of all kindsFires (like igniting an enemy)Ambient FX like fog, dust, wisps, auras, smoke, etcWater visuals (splashes, foam, waves, etc.)Prop fx like electric arcs, force fields, animated bits, etc.Needless to say, just like every other Starfield texture mod, it is very much a work in progress right now. However, it will be constantly updated as Team EVE works toward its completion.

  The initial release of the Starfield FX mod includes fires, scorches, sparks, and blood. Take a look at some of the new effects (mind the low-resolution GIFs) below.

  A new update has already been announced for tomorrow and should include water splashes, Arc Welder visuals, 4K blood with lighting fix, and possibly ship landing/take-off visuals.

  The good news is that this mod doesn't require the Starfield Script Extender and, as such, is not exclusive to the Steam version of the game. Its installation is rather simple: just copy the contents in the C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\My Games\Starfield folder.

  As a bonus Starfield mod for today, Nexus Mods user Scottyus1 released 'Bullet Hole Impact', which adds a bullet hole visual effect after shooting an organic object. Currently, it's just a single bullet hole and it doesn't last long, but the author is looking into ways to expand both parameters.

  To install it, extract the contents in the folder mentioned above and ensure your StarfieldCustom.ini has the following strings:

  [Archive]

  bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

  sResourceDataDirsFinal=
